Breast Lift

Have the figure you’ve always desired with a safe and reliable procedure.

Breast lift, also known as mastopexy, is the surgery aimed at lifting and firming sagging breasts (ptosis), where the skin has lost tone and elasticity, often along with volume. In cases where there is only breast sagging without a volume deficit, the surgeon uses the patient’s own tissue to shape and add volume to the breasts without the need for prostheses or breast implants. Conversely, when both volume and skin covering are insufficient, the use of implants is recommended.

The size of the scar will depend on how saggy the breast is, or in other words, how much it needs to be lifted. In cases of mild ptosis, the scar may be just around the areola, while in severe cases, it may be an inverted T or anchor-shaped scar.

Anesthesia

The surgery is performed under general or regional anesthesia.

Duration

Outpatient procedure lasting 3 hours.

Recovery

Recovery time is 7 days.

Postoperative Care for Mastopexy (Breast Lift)

  • Take the prescribed medications (antibiotic and analgesic, and muscle relaxants if indicated) for 7 days, and do not stop them without the doctor’s authorization.
  • Use a postoperative bra for one month, day and night, to provide better breast shaping and limit pain while it heals internally. (Do not use an underwire bra during this month).
  • Do not perform activities such as aerobics, weight lifting, or high-impact exercises to avoid inflammation and tissue sagging for a month.
  • Do not have sexual intercourse for three (3) weeks.
  • During the first four weeks, avoid using pools to prevent infections.
  • No postoperative therapies are required, only care for drains if they are placed, which will be removed within a maximum of 5 days.
