Abdominoplasty

Get a spectacular abdomen with a safe and certified procedure.

Abdominoplasty, also known as lipectomy, is a procedure that involves the removal of excess abdominal skin and fat and the correction of muscle laxity in the abdominal wall. This situation of excess skin and relaxation of the abdominal wall usually occurs in patients who have experienced weight loss or after pregnancies. Abdominoplasty results in a flatter, firmer abdomen and a narrower waist.

When performed alone, it is an outpatient procedure, but when combined with other procedures, the patient usually requires one day of hospitalization.

Anesthesia

The surgery is performed under general or regional anesthesia (from the waist down).

Duration

It takes about 3 hours (when performed simultaneously with other surgeries, it may take longer).

Recovery

The recovery period is 30 days.

The full recovery time is one year, considering one month for swelling and a minimum of one year for the scar to mature (the time it takes for the scar to flatten and take on a color similar to the rest of the skin) depending on each person’s healing process.
